NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, TSI Global Solutions and Saint Louis University have been awarded the 2013 Digital Signage Expo APEX Award’s Bronze Medal in the education category for a campus digital signage solution transforming the way staff and students communicate. Winners were announced February 27 at this year’s DSE Awards banquet in Las Vegas.
Working with leading AV solutions provider TSI Global, Saint Louis University completed an installation of NEC technologies throughout its campus, with products deployed inside and outside the classroom.
NEC products included V Series digital signage displays for wayfinding and campus news, PA500U high-resolution projectors in the university’s medical classrooms, allowing for detailed-definition images, and X Series ultra-narrow video walls. The installation, however, serves more than just an educational purpose. When a dangerous EF-4 tornado swept through the St. Louis area in 2011, university officials used the signage system to keep the campus community informed and safe.
